Hello to our readers,
In June of 1995, Bob Moore, former staff photographer for the Globe-Democrat, a major daily, formed the Moore Design Group with his wife Betty Moore, former art director for Centerre Bank, artist and writer. The Moore Design Group opened an office/photography studio in the Hoffman Produce Building on Laclede's Landing, just north of the Gateway Arch.
While attending a photo convention in Toronto, Canada, we discovered only a handful of sites about St. Louis. Inspired to shine a bright light on St. Louis, we returned home and began working on a web site about the metropolitan area.
The St. Louis Front Page began as a visual guide to St. Louis attractions, historical neighborhoods, hotels, restaurants and the entertainment scene. Over the course of nearly twenty-five years, Bob was a familiar face at news conferences, parades, festivals and other special events. Saddly, Bob passed in early 2019. Always the pioneer, his vision was guided by strong ethics and progressive thinking. He was one of the biggest boosters of St. Louis through the St. Louis Front Page. Search engine Excite, an internet portal launched in 1995, called it "a pixel-packed web site." Bob proudly called it the most "St. Louis-friendly" web site. He was most proud of the Moore Design Group being honored as 'Neighborhood Business of the Year' for the 20th Ward in 2014.
Today, Bob's photographic work of St. Louis can be seen in numerous corporate offices throughout the St. Louis area, including the License Collector's office at St. Louis City Hall, the Thomas F. Eagleton Courthouse, Pricewaterhouse Coopers, the Old Spaghetti Factory on Laclede's Landing, and in many private collections. His beautiful photos of St. Louis architecture and the attractions are available at St. Louis Photos and Fine Art Gallery.
In the spirit of supporting St. Louis during this pandemic and beyond, I am bringing back the St. Louis Front Page. With technology evolving quickly to help us stay connected and brave this new world, I am pleased to introduce "STL Front Page - St. Louis Attractions" with content that can be viewed on a variety of devices. It's a work in progress. As St. Louis gradually reopens for business and travelers return to visit, we will be there to help guide you through our beautiful city.
We are all in this together. We are #stlouisstrong. We are #stlouisfriendly.
