First Charity Bracelet Targeted At Teens and Young Adults

ST. LOUIS, (SLFP.com) November 14, 2004 - Yellow is for cancer research, red for AIDS awareness and pink for breast cancer awareness. Charitable awareness bracelets have quickly become the trendy, tasteful way to support a cause you care about. But there hasn't been one targeted specifically to teens and young adults - until now.

Studies show that almost 40 percent of teens and young adults would become involved with charities if they knew where to start. Today charity-minded companies are showing them how. Leading lifestyle retailer American Eagle Outfitters, for example, has created their Great Gifts program benefiting charities that support young adults and encourage them to volunteer.

In-store or online, customers can make a donation to their choice of participating organizations (Jumpstart and YMCA National Safe Place in the U.S. and Big Brothers Big Sisters in Canada) and 100 percent of each donation will go to that charity. As a thank you, they receive a colorful bracelet.

While teens and young adults may not have a lot of free time or money to donate to their favorite causes, they can still make a difference. This holiday season, the latest fashion trend for teens and young adults is wearing their hearts just below their sleeves. After all, generosity never goes out of style.
