The Beauty Of Color: A MakeUp Celebration for All Skin of Color
NEW YORK, (PRNewswire) February 16, 2004 - Iman, cosmetics entrepreneur and legendary model, will publish a new beauty book, The Beauty of Color: A Makeup Celebration for All Skin of Color, with G.P. Putnam's Sons.
Iman, the iconic Somalian model, stated the book "will celebrate the multi-ethnic face of global beauty."
"We all know that beauty comes from within, but it's also about finding the right lipstick, honey," said Iman. "My book will celebrate the beauty of every color of skin and how today's beauty products can enhance that beauty."
The Beauty of Color will be the first beauty book to embrace global beauty and women of all ethnicities, with personal tips and insights from Iman garnered from her two careers.
Iman started her career as a model with her first assignment for American Vogue in 1975. After that, Iman quickly became the most successful black model and a star on international runways and in magazines. Iman continued at the top of her field for 14 years, appearing in countless magazines and advertising campaigns. In 1994, she started IMAN Cosmetics for skin of color; and in 2000 she launched a second line, I-IMAN Makeup, which addresses a more urban, sophisticated customer with edgier colors and styles.
She is also the author of I Am Iman, an autobiographical sketchbook of her working life, published in 2001.
The Beauty of Color will be illustrated with beautiful, detailed photographs of models, celebrities and real women, with the text emphasizing the nuance of cosmetics and skincare for skin of color. The book will be published in hardcover by Putnam in 2005, with a Perigee paperback edition to follow in 2006.

Chicago Fashion Competition Inspired by HUMMER H3T
CHICAGO, (SLFP.com) February 16, 2004 - Designers from General Motors and Nike provided the first detailed design briefing on the HUMMER H3T concept truck, February 6, 2004 during the Chicago Auto Show at McCormick Place.
The overview served as the kick-off for the IMAGINE 2004 fashion competition, which will conclude on May 20, 2004 at Union Station.
The fashion competition involves more than 100 students from the International Academy of Design and Technology, in Chicago designing clothes inspired by the H3T - or one of four other GM vehicles - for scholarship money to be awarded in May by some of Chicago's top fashion industry leaders.
The 2004 H3T concept, which was revealed to a group of HUMMER owners, enthusiasts and journalists at the LA Convention Center on December 9, 2003, expresses a vision of the potential of future HUMMER vehicles, targeted at enthusiasts who desire the HUMMER image and capability, but in a smaller configuration. It also provides a visual clue to the continuing evolution of HUMMER's design.
