"IMAGINE 2002" Fashion & Technology Show at Union Station
CHICAGO, (SLFP.com) May 8, 2002 - This year's IADT Jury Show awarded eight fashion design students who will go on to present their designs with 51 of their peers in the "IMAGINE 2002" 23rd Annual Student Fashion Show held, May 22, in the Great Hall of Union Station.

The judging panel - comprised of some of the Midwest's leading fashion designers, merchandisers, editors, stylists, retail fashion executives and other acclaimed design experts - chose among 61 senior, junior and sophomore level students who presented 235 women's and men's original fashion designs at a recent Jury Show held on IADT's campus.

Each design student's fashion creation was judged on multiple criteria including: construction, design creativity, salability and an overall rating. For outstanding student awards, the judges' scores were combined with the students' grade point averages to produce a final rating. IADT student winners were announced in six award categories.

Janny Perez won the "Outstanding Fashion Design Student" three years in row - as a sophomore, junior and currently as a senior. In addition to the award winners, honorable mentions (based on collection presentation and professional critique) for senior level fashion design collections were given to Zaida Fuentes (Westside Chicago) and Passion Grady (Southside Chicago). Junior level students receiving honorable mentions for their fashion design collections included Miriam Ellegant (Morton Grove, IL) and Camilla Haith (Evanston, IL).

The IMAGINE 2002 Fashion & Technology Show gala will be held at 7:00 p.m. (with a VIP reception at 6:00 p.m.) on Wednesday, May 22, 2002 in the Great Hall of Chicago's Union Station (210 S. Canal). Tickets are priced at $40 for the show and $60 for the VIP reception/show. For more information, call: 1-877-ACADEMY. The student-run event brings together IADT students from several programs (fashion design, advertising and design, merchandising management, visual communications, multimedia production, eCommerce, etc.) to demonstrate their creative talents to the general public, media and invited guests.
