Technology/Telecommunications Committee
ST. CHARLES COUNTY, (SLFP.com), Feb 10, 2002 - A steering committee for the St. Charles Chamber Telecommunication/Technology Committee met last week to review goals and objective for 2002.

Linda Howard of OASIS Office Automation and the IT Division of Botz-Deal, and Betsy Ferguson, Applied Data Systems, are co-chairs for 2002. Carl Sandstedt of the St. Charles City-County Library District chaired the committee from 1999 to this year.

The committee was formed in 1999 as a task force under the Chamber's Transportation/Economic Development Committee, at the time chaired by Gary Elmestad of Elmestad and Associates.

The purpose of the task force was to meet members' needs for information about telecommunication and technology and to serve as a forum for issues and options. With these same goals in mind for 2002, the committee plans to develop a survey for area businesses to determine ways the Chamber can assist with programs and issues.

The committee invites interested Chamber members to attend the next meeting on Friday, February 22, for lunch at Culpeppers. Please RSVP to the Chamber at 636-946-0633 or on line at info@stcharleschamber.orgRed Dot

County Seeks Task Force Members for Master Plan 2015
ST. CHARLES COUNTY, (SLFP.com), Dec 16, 2001 - St. Charles County is one of the fastest growing community's in the state of Missouri, with a population of 283,883 and new people and businesses arriving each day.

As growth continues, St. Charles County Government is committed to the continued development of a quality community using the St. Charles County Master Plan as its guide. County residents are invited to assist their local government in achieving this goal by serving on one of the task forces for the Master Plan 2015 committee.

"The Master Plan 2015 committee provides an opportunity for citizens who see the potential of St. Charles County to affect public policy and the continued development of our community," said Anne Liberstein, Director of Policy Development in an announcement. "It is a chance for people to step forward, get involved in their local government and help determine the issues that the county will focus on over the next few years."

The purpose of the Master Plan is to set forth policy regarding the social, governmental, economic and physical development of the county. The first Master Plan was adopted by the County Council in 1996 as required by the St. Charles County Charter. The charter mandates that a new countywide Master Plan be created to again achieve this purpose by June 30, 2003 and thereafter at least once every five years. In that pursuit, members of the community will work together, as part of various task forces, to initiate the process that eventually results in the year 2015 Master Plan.

Residents of St. Charles County who want to help shape the county's future are invited to apply to serve on one of the following task forces: community health, community infrastructure, economic development, environment and natural resources, housing, land use, parks, recreation and cultural facilities, public safety, public transit or telecommunications and information technology.

A letter of interest, along with a resume or an explanation of the person's background or experience and the area in which they want to assist, should be sent to the Office of the County Executive, 100 North Third Street, Suite 318, St. Charles, MO 63301.

For additional details about the St. Charles County Master Plan 2015 effort, contact Dan Kaline in the Planning Department at (636) 949-7335 or the St. Charles County Executive's office at (636) 949-7520.Red Dot
