St. Louis Public Library Branch in Old Post Office
The St. Louis Public Library's Central Express, located on the main level of the Old Post Office building, 815 Olive Street, Suite 160, is designed to serve the growing downtown community. Because of its relatively close proximity to Central Library, Central Express is not intended to be a "full service" Branch.
As its name suggests, speed and convenience are the main goals at the new location, which covers 7,000 square feet. In addition to knowledgeable staff on-site, a self-service check out machine will help more than 88,000 downtown workers quickly check out materials on their way to work, on their lunch break, or after a busy day. The Branch also features wireless Internet access as well as two public access computers.
Approximately 3,500 items will be on the shelves at any given time, and because it operates as part of Central Library, customers have easy access to over 4 million items by using the request system to have materials delivered to Central Express for pick-up.
Central Express offers popular fiction and nonfiction books as well as DVDs, CDs and books on CD. Hours are: Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. - 6 p.m. For more information, call 314-569-0348.
