Scottrade wins Top 50 Award for Contributions to St. Louis Community
ST. LOUIS (BUSINESS WIRE), December 14, 2008 - Scottrade, a leading branch-supported online investment firm, has been named one of the 2008 Greater St. Louis Top 50 Businesses Shaping Our Future. The Top 50 award, presented by St. Louis Regional Chamber & Growth Association and Deloitte, salutes companies in the St. Louis region that exemplify a high level of corporate standard and citizenship. This is Scottrade's fourth time receiving this recognition.

Headquartered in St. Louis for nearly three decades, Scottrade supports many charitable organizations, including several that directly impact the St. Louis community. In 2008, Scottrade made significant contributions to the St. Louis Symphony, United Way of Greater St. Louis and the St. Louis Blues 14 Fund. Scottrade and its associates also participated in community events, including Rebuilding Together-St. Louis, the Humane Society's annual Bark in the Park, Susan G. Komen's St. Louis Race for the Cure and the Alzheimer's Association's Memory Walk.

"Scottrade and our associates take pride in serving their community and bettering the lives of those around them," said Rodger Riney, Scottrade founder, president and CEO. "As we have grown, we have hired top-notch talent and created a positive work environment that allows our associates to better serve our customers and the communities in which we live and work."

While Scottrade has continued to serve the community, it has remained dedicated to expanding its business in St. Louis and across the nation. In 2008, the firm opened more than 50 branch offices, including its seventh greater St. Louis location in Edwardsville, Ill. The online investment firm also hired nearly 850 associates in 2008, including 319 locally. Scottrade plans to continue opening new branch offices and expects to increase its workforce by more than 25 percent over the next three years.

Other recognitions Scottrade received throughout the year include FORTUNE magazine's "100 Best Places to Work For," Computerworld's "Best Places to Work in IT," and being named as "Highest in Investor Satisfaction with Self-Directed Services" in J.D. Power and Associates' 2008 Self-Directed Investor Satisfaction Study.

Scottrade was recognized on Dec. 11 at the 13th Annual Greater St. Louis Top 50 Awards Gala, held at Hyatt Regency in downtown St. Louis.
